My antipathy against mostly feminine read pattern leads me to the following decision. I want to break that cliche cute idea of polka dots.
Why am I thinking of polka dot ruffled dresses? It's the way we read femininity-soft, flowing (circular) round shapes. Our relationship with this stereotype of the lovely, courteous, good-looking woman, preferably in a dress, is toxic. It bothers me. I take advantage of the history of the pattern. Medieval diseases cause fear in people - semi-random dots on human skin overlaying eachother. I want to create such an atmosphere, far away from romantic femininity. The silhouette still carries sportiness and movement itself. Instincts, human muscle groups and their movement.
